The question this answers
If you're choosing between FairValid and Emailable for email verification, what does each one charge, and how does each bill results that come back uncertain? Both pages answer some of this clearly and leave other parts open. This article covers both.
FairValid: published prices and outcome-based charges
FairValid's pricing page lists dollar prices for its monthly plans. All prices exclude tax:
| Monthly credits | Price per month | Approx. per 1,000 |
|---|---|---|
| 10,000 | $19.50 | $1.95 |
| 25,000 | $29.50 | $1.18 |
| 50,000 | $44.50 | $0.89 |
| 100,000 | $74.50 | $0.745 |
| 500,000 | $149.50 | $0.299 |
| 1,000,000 | $224.50 | $0.2245 |
The same pricing page says monthly plans add credits each month and paid credits carry forward. It also offers a one-time top-up for any whole number of credits from 2,000 to 1,000,000. For example, a 10,000-credit top-up is listed at $19.50 excluding tax. FairValid asks you to review the current quote and tax before you pay.
Every FairValid account gets 300 free credits each month. Free credits are used first. They're a fresh monthly allowance and don't roll over.
What you pay depends on the result. The pricing page lists these rules:
- Valid or invalid: 1 credit per completed result.
- Unknown or catch-all: no net charge. Any held credits are released or returned.
- Still checking: no final charge yet. A credit hold keeps room for a check that's still running, but a hold isn't a completed charge.

The results guide treats "still checking" and "unknown" as different outcomes. Still checking means there's no final answer yet. Unknown means the check couldn't return a dependable answer. The guide also says technical failures and unprocessed items don't create a net verification charge. It notes that a valid result never guarantees inbox delivery and that catch-all results can be less certain at the mailbox level.

Emailable: non-expiring credits and a subscription discount
Emailable's pricing page offers pay-as-you-go and monthly options. You can pick preset amounts from 5K to 1M credits or use its advanced calculator. Our text capture of that page doesn't show dollar figures, so we can't compare dollar prices here. Check Emailable's calculator for current rates.
Here's what the Emailable pricing page does state:
- Credits never expire. Unused credits stay in your account.
- 250 free credits. Every new account starts with 250 credits.
- Credit costs: Bulk, Verifier, API and Widget verification each cost 1 credit per verification. Inbox Reports cost 100 credits per report, and Blacklist Monitors cost 5 credits per check.
- Volume discounts: the price per credit drops automatically on larger purchases.
- Unknown results are free. Credits spent on Unknown results and duplicates are returned to your balance when your list finishes verifying.
- Subscription discount: you can pay as you go or save 15% with a subscription.
- No paid add-ons: all features are included, and no long-term contract is required.
- Payment methods: major cards, PayPal and Apple Pay are listed. Our capture is cut off after that, so we couldn't see the full list.

Two notes on reading this. First, the discount is stated: Emailable says a subscription saves 15% compared with pay-as-you-go. Once you have a pay-as-you-go price from Emailable's calculator, you can work out the discounted credit subtotal from that 15%. What our capture doesn't show is the dollar base price, the subscription fee or billing terms, or the total cost of a subscription. Check those before you compare totals.
Second, Emailable says credits for Unknown results are "spent" and then returned when the list finishes. FairValid describes a hold that is released or returned, with no net charge. Either way, an Unknown result costs nothing in the end. Your balance may look different while a list is still running, though.

Where FairValid has an evidenced advantage
- More free credits, given every month. FairValid gives 300 free credits each month. Emailable's page describes 250 free credits that every new account starts with. That's 50 more free credits up front, and FairValid's page says its free credits are a monthly allowance. Emailable's captured page doesn't say whether its free credits renew, so we can't compare the two over time. FairValid's free credits don't roll over.
That's the only advantage these captures support. Some features appear on both pages, like no net charge for Unknown results and lower per-credit rates at higher volume. A feature both vendors offer isn't an advantage.
Where Emailable may fit better
- Non-expiring paid credits are a shared feature. Emailable states that its credits never expire. FairValid’s paid credits, including one-time top-ups, also do not expire while the account stays open. FairValid /pricing · FairValid /help/credits · FairValid /help/csv.
- Both services avoid extra charges for duplicate rows. Emailable says it returns credits spent on duplicates. Within a FairValid run, a repeated address shares one verification result across its source rows and does not create an extra charge. A new verification run is separate. - Deliverability tools priced in credits. Emailable lists Inbox Reports and Blacklist Monitors with fixed credit costs.
- Stated payment options. Emailable lists PayPal and Apple Pay alongside major cards.

Caveats and open questions
This comparison covers billing only. Neither pricing page proves verification accuracy or delivery results. The screenshots above show only what each page said on the capture date.
FairValid documents no net charge for catch-all results. Emailable's captured page doesn't mention how it bills catch-all results. That doesn't mean Emailable charges for them. If your lists include many catch-all domains, ask Emailable directly.
Prices and terms can change, so check both pages before you buy. FairValid's prices exclude tax.
Choosing
FairValid may fit buyers who value a free allowance that refreshes each month and no net charge for unresolved catch-all results. Emailable offers deliverability reports priced in credits. Non-expiring paid credits and duplicate handling are documented by both services; compare the services included and the current total before choosing.
