If you use Emailable and want to see how other verifiers bill for the same work, this article answers one question: what does each alternative charge, and what do its billing rules say about free credits, Unknown results and credit expiry? Everything here comes from official pages captured on 2026-10-28. These are documented terms, not results from hands-on testing. The screenshots show what each page said that day. They don't prove accuracy or delivery outcomes.

The Emailable baseline

Emailable's pricing page says every new account starts with 250 free credits and that credits never expire. Bulk, Verifier, API and Widget checks each cost 1 credit per verification. Inbox Reports cost 100 credits per report and Blacklist Monitors cost 5 credits per check. According to the page, "Credits spent on Unknown results and duplicates are returned to your balance when your list finishes verifying." That means the credits are spent first and returned later. Emailable also says you can "save 15% with a subscription," and that it has no paid add-ons and no long-term contracts. The 15% discount is stated, but this capture shows no price for any specific volume. Without a base price, we can't calculate an Emailable cost for a given quantity.

1. FairValid

Best fit: Teams that want free credits every month and published prices for both monthly plans and one-time top-ups.

Sourced strengths: FairValid's pricing page includes 300 free credits each month, and free credits are used first. Valid and invalid results cost 1 credit per completed result. Unknown and catch-all results have "0 net charge" because the held credits are released or returned. During a running check, credits are held, and the final result decides the charge. A hold is not a completed charge. Monthly plans range from 10,000 credits at $19.50/month to 1,000,000 credits at $224.50/month, and paid credits carry forward. One-time top-ups can be any whole amount from 2,000 to 1,000,000 credits. The results guide says technical failures and unprocessed items don't create a net verification charge.

Sourced limitations: Free credits are a fresh monthly allowance "without rollover." Prices exclude tax, and the page asks you to review the current quote and tax before you pay. The capture doesn't say whether top-up credits expire. The results guide calls results "evidence, not a delivery guarantee" and says catch-all results may be less certain at the mailbox level. Unknown means the check couldn't return a dependable answer. "Still checking" is different: it means there's no final answer yet.

Pricing: 10,000 credits cost $19.50 excl. tax, either as a monthly plan or as a one-time top-up (pricing page).

Where FairValid's documented terms differ:

  • Free credits. FairValid's 300 free credits each month are more than ZeroBounce's 100 free monthly validations (ZeroBounce pricing). They're also more than the 250 starting credits Emailable gives new accounts (Emailable pricing).
  • 10,000 credits bought once. FairValid lists $19.50 excl. tax (FairValid pricing). ZeroBounce lists $129 pay-as-you-go (ZeroBounce pricing), and its capture doesn't say whether tax is included. ZeroBounce credits also work with more tools, so the two purchases don't cover the same services.

2. ZeroBounce

Best fit: Buyers who want one pool of credits for validation, scoring, email finding and domain search.

Sourced strengths: ZeroBounce's pricing page says its credits work for Email Validation, Scoring, Email Finder and Domain Search. Bulk validation and the real-time API each cost one credit per address. The page says all accounts include "Unknown results are free," credits that never expire, detailed status codes, an inbox placement test, an email server test, multiple API keys, 24/7 customer support and 100 free monthly validations. "Unknown results are free" means you aren't charged. The page doesn't say whether credits are taken first and then returned. ZeroBounce also advertises "99.6% Validation Accuracy Guaranteed." That's the vendor's own claim, and we haven't tested it.

Sourced limitations: The minimum purchase is 2,000 credits. The Freemium tier gives 100 validation credits. It says both "Credits refill every month" and "Credits don't expire," and the capture doesn't explain how those fit together. Freemium also has no access to Warmup or DMARC monitoring, and the page lists some activity data as not included. If you need more than 1 million credits, you have to contact ZeroBounce for enterprise pricing.

Pricing: Pay-as-you-go costs $0.0129 per credit, which is $129 for 10,000 credits. ZeroBounce offers 15% off with a ZeroBounce ONE subscription. Applied to $129, that discount gives a credit subtotal of $109.65. The capture doesn't show the ZeroBounce ONE subscription fee or the total bundle cost.

3. MillionVerifier

Best fit: Buyers who prefer one-time credit packs that never expire and come with a money-back guarantee.

Sourced strengths: According to MillionVerifier's homepage, its pay-as-you-go credits "never expire." The page lists a single email checker, CSV list verification, a bulk verifier, an email verifier API, ESP integration imports and a "Risky email refund." It also lists a "100% money-back guarantee," no contracts, and volume pricing above 50M.

Sourced limitations: The capture doesn't say how Unknown results are billed. We treat the risky-email refund as a separate policy, not as an Unknown-result rule. The capture shows only one package, so check "See all packages" for other volumes. The ratings and testimonials are the vendor's own marketing, and we haven't verified them.

Pricing: 50,000 emails cost $89, or $0.00178 per credit. FairValid's nearest published price is a monthly plan at $44.50/month excl. tax (FairValid pricing). Those aren't equivalent, because MillionVerifier's price is a one-time purchase. The FairValid capture doesn't show a one-time top-up price for 50,000 credits.

Trade-offs to weigh

  • Expiry: Emailable, ZeroBounce and MillionVerifier all say their credits never expire. FairValid's paid credits carry forward, but its free monthly credits don't roll over.
  • Unknown results: FairValid (no net charge, including catch-all), Emailable (credits returned, including for duplicates) and ZeroBounce (free) document their rules. The MillionVerifier capture doesn't.
  • Breadth: ZeroBounce credits also cover scoring and email finding. Emailable sells inbox reports and blacklist monitors for credits.
  • Delivery: FairValid's results guide says a valid result never guarantees inbox delivery.
